St. Louis LGBT counseling and support for individuals and family, specializing in youth and transgender issues. Workshops and trainings also available, tailored to educate the community and your groups' needs.
Lori Cox-Buday offers St. Louis an LGBTQIA+ counseling space to support individuals and families. Her practice specializes in youth and transgender issues. With a Bachelors in Psychology from St. Louis University, and a Masters in Counseling from the University of Missouri in St. Louis, Lori has been working with kids and families to help them overcome their unique obstacles for more than 10 years.
Beginning in non-profit work providing services to students in the St. Louis area, she saw a need to further support our kids as they tackle issues within the LGBTQIA/gender-diverse spectrum as well as other coinciding diagnoses including, but not limited to: anxiety, depression, ASD, ADHD, and PTSD.
She operates from a strengths-based, Person-Centered (PCT) approach, utilizing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) techniques to establish goals and foster internal peace and motivation. Session work can vary depending on the client's needs and may include other family members and partners.
She's familiar with challenging school and workplace environments, and can offer resources for social support as well as connect you with friendly doctor referrals. Her goal for you is to feel comfortable with your authentic self and connect you with people who will support you in your journey.
I accept Anthem/Blue Cross Blue Shield (BCBS), Cigna and UnitedHealthCare (UHC). I also accept private pay.
